It is with a heavy heart, but with sweet memories that we write this note of condolence. In the late 60s when we moved into our home around the corner from the Pelletier's, Betty or Mrs Pelletier to us, and Val were the first neighbours who dropped in to welcome us, but  quickly became family to Pearl and I and Sari and Michelle. Pauline was like a big sister to our girls, but Betty was the surrogate mother. Betty was always available to offer assistance. When Pearl was working, the home of the Pelletier's was opened for lunch . Soon Betty and Val were hosting lunches for the children of many our friends and neighbours in the area.  Even today when we reminisce about old times, their number one memory is of the Pelletiers. 
Our girls have such fond memories of Mrs. Pelletier and the family. They knew that family like their own. There was even a time when Pearl and I escorted a school trip to Switzerland,  Betty, Val and Pauline looked after them at the ages of 3 and 5. Many years later when my father (father-in-law) was diagnosed with dementia, it was Betty who offered to look after him so Mrs. Bell could join us in a family event in the States. Betty and Val moved in with him for the week we were gone.
We were honoured to join the family to celebrate her 100th birthday. To be honest we were surprised at how bright and cheerful Betty was.  Pearl was able to offer our birthday wishes to her on our behalf. We know at 102  she lived a full life. She will be missed but not forgotten by so many. 

On September 29th heaven gained the most beautiful angel…My Nana was the last living Matriarch of my family and she was wonderful, loving and caring.  She was one of many strong women in my life and I am so grateful for everything that she taught me. 
She taught me to bake and taught me many cooking tips and tricks; Nana’s meals were some of my favorites.  Her baked goods and treats were certainly to be enjoyed and savored and there was never a shortage of them!
Growing up I looked forward to spending time with my Nana and Papa during the summer months swimming in Lake Simcoe and running through the fields behind the house in Jackson Point or spending so much time at Camp Robin Hood my favorite summer camp.  
I have so many fond memories of holiday visits and her house filled with my Aunts and Uncles and so much love.  
It was always exciting to get off the school bus or come around the corner and see their car in the driveway as they would just stop by for visits…all the way from Toronto just to surprise me.  I often wished that we lived closer so I could visit more often but the visits we did have were always wonderful and special.  
My Nana was always up for a chat on the phone or a video chat since Covid and loved to correct my French…
I am so happy I was able to go surprise her with a visit last month.  We had a great visit, and while my heart is sad I know she is in heaven reunited with my Papa and all her loved ones.  
She will be missed so very much.   Love you Nana xoxo
