Frederieka van der Schilden

Frederieka van der Schilden, of Scarborough Ontario, passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023. Frederieka is survived by her son Michael and his wife Donna, her son Ted, her daughter Mariann, her daughter Denise and her husband Michael, her son Paul, her son John, her son Tom, and his partner Berge,and his ex-wife Kim, her daughter Cynthia, her seven grandchildren Jacci, Amanda, Marlee, Jeffrey, Bradley, Nicholle, and Emily, and her great grandchildren Charlotte, Richard, Shane, Julia, Jason, Hunter, Jack, Parker, Caleb, and Greyson. Also surviving are her siblings Willem, Mieke and Bart.She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Annie, Puk, Charles, Riet, and Silvia, her son Stephen, and her granddaughter Stefanie. Frederieka was born in Den Haag, The Netherlands on October 20, 1931. Her childhood was marked by the loss of her father during the war. As a teenager, she met her future husband and the father of her 9 children, and they married shortly before immigrating to Canada in 1952. Frederieka devoted her life to her children. She led her life with grace, love and with the guidance of her faith in God. She set an example for all who knew her. She was the pillar of her family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, March 16th at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave, East, from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. Chapel Service will be held at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave, East, on Friday, March 17th at 11:00 am followed by interment at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, followed by reception at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave, East.
