

George passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Oakville on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the age of 93. George was surrounded by the love of his life, Jean Joyce Philips, wife of 71 years, and his devoted daughter, Janice Marie. George was welcomed home by his son, Jeffrey Barrie Philips, his son-in-law, Barry William Oehm, his brother, John Philips and parents, George and Margaret Philips. Dearest Grandfather to Amy Lyn and April Elizabeth and Great Grandfather to Emmett and Olivia. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. George was a proud member in good standing of the Wexford Lodge Masonic Temple.
Jean Joyce Philips (nee London)-
Jean passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Oakville on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the age of 92 with her loving daughter, Janice Marie at her side. Jean was the beloved wife of the late George Philips who passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. They were married for 71 wonderful years. Jean was welcomed home by her son, Jeffrey Barrie Philips, her son-in-law, Barry William Oehm, her sisters, Mary, Margaret, Edna, Rose, Helen, brother, James and parents, James and Mary London. Dearest sister to Elizabeth (Betty) Evers and devoted Grandmother to Amy Lyn and April Elizabeth and Great Grandmother to Emmett and Olivia. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Special thank you to the staff at Sunrise of Oakville for their compassionate care of both George and Jean over the last 7 months.
A Memorial Visitation for George and Jean will be held at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East (between Warden Ave. and Pharmacy Ave.) on Sunday, November 24 from 11 am until the time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 12 pm. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will follow at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Guelph. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario in memory of George and Jean would be appreciated by the family.
