To his three surviving children Michelle, Megan, and Matthew, Glen was a loving father. He filled the walls of his home and his workplace with their pictures and their artwork. He sent letters and cards, constantly brought them up, and loved them each without condition.
To his surviving grandson Oliver, Glen was the most excited grandfather. He smiled ear to ear whenever he could hold or even see Oliver. He bought him gifts and outfits every visit. He had great laughing competitions with Oliver and wore his special grandpa shirt with pride.
To his surviving siblings Steve and Maria, Glen was the best big brother. He stepped up whenever they needed him and supported them through life. He dropped in unexpectedly, he never missed a Christmas Eve, and he planned trips and drives to build memories.
To his surviving partner Lillian, Glen was the ultimate explorer. He adventured with her across Ontario, from Lakefield, Port Dover, and Elora to Woodstock and Georgian Bay, all in his beloved Montana. He never shied away from the dance floor. He loved to sing or play on his guitar. He brought an energy and joy to each new adventure together.
To his co-workers, Glen was the definite company man. He worked 36 years at Bell, spending decades with his colleagues. He always wore his huge collection of Bell shirts, hats, sweaters, and jackets. Since college, Bell has been in his DNA.
To all his friends and family, Glen was Glen. A joker with a loud, infectious laugh. A touchstone who connected us. The person who reached out. The person who you could depend on. He was political, goofy, straightforward, earnest. He cared deeply for all those he shared his life with. He had an unerring internal GPS. We are lucky to have known him, and we will all miss him dearly.
A memorial mass will be held for Glen at Prince of Peace Parish (265 Alton Towers Circle, Scarborough)
on Wednesday, June 28th at 1:00PM.
