Grazia Fronte

It is with heavy hearts that we announce our Mom, Grazia Fronte, passed away quietly in her sleep on Friday, November 3 at Abbeylawn Manor in Pickering at the age of 96.

She was born on July 20, 1927, in Aci Castello, Sicily. She was one of the strongest women we knew, raising all her daughters to be like her. She took so much pride in all her grandchildren and great grandchildren – every new one was like the first one all over again! Family was everything to her. There isn’t anything our Mom wouldn’t do for her family. If you knew my Mom, you would know that she was a very giving person, helping those in need without a second thought.

Grazia was also a very devout member of the Jehovah’s Witness religion and dedicated most of her life to the church. We would like to thank all of the members for the support, strength and kinship you have given her over these many years.

She is survived by her 4 daughters, Lucia Vecchio (George Wellsbury), Angie Shay, Lisa Thomas (Brian Thomas) and Mary Vecchio-Somerville (Bill Somerville), her 11 grandchildren Justin Hines (Alicia Reitz), Kristina Hines, Alyssa Hines (Joshua Stover-Sherland), Jessica Ferracuti (Michael Ferracuti), Bill Shay (Jilaine Shay), Jamie Shay (Maya Shay), Shannon Bristlon (Kenny Fraser), Jessica Ferrara (Anthony Ferrara), Laila Vecchio, Marissa McCrae (Kiefer Coelho-Rampersad) and Lucas McCrae (Zoe Secrett), and her 9 great grandchildren, Xander Hines, Callie Hines, Ronan Hines, Desmond Shay, Penelope Shay, Logan Elliott, Landen Elliott, Lizzie Bristlon-Fraser and Lexi Bristlon-Fraser. As well, Grazia has a very large extended family of nieces and nephews both here and in Sicily.

Viewing to be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service to be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
