But not quite as brightly as it used to…
On December 18, 2022, the love of our lives passed away in his sleep.
Guenter Emil Weber lived 97 incredible Years.
Born in Bremen, Germany.
Brother to one lucky sister, Erika.
His excellent adventure started.
Guenter’s love for life was evident at a young age. His athletic abilities kept him in tremendous shape throughout his lifetime. He loved all bodies of water if he could swim in them and swim he did!
But not only that, he was a World War II veteran and lived through the hardships of the war in Germany, which eventually lead him to cross the Atlantic to his new Country, Canada. Guenter taught not only his own children to love the water and be sporty, and he also taught several others along the way too.
He was an entrepreneur and worked well into his seventies’; he just never got old somehow. Dad was an excellent cook, baker, tax return maker, car detailer, gardener, accountant, denture repairer, painter, cashmere wearer, traveler, entertainer, best and beloved friend to many. He laughed easily, was a great storyteller, always punctual, tidy, precise, articulate, spelled better than 97 percent of Canadians, held the record for his 5-minute plank at the gym (while being the oldest member at 90), roast maker, rum and coke drinker, The Far Side lover, British comedy fan, animal lover, avid cycler, opera and classical music enthusiast.
He enjoyed the Olympics as well as other sports, he skied, was always well groomed and smartly dressed. Ladies liked him very much, with his great hair, cute smile, and nicest legs in our family.
He was the very best dad, uncle, father-in-law, neighbour, Opa, business partner, and brother.
He is forever in the hearts of those who Love him.
We will be having a private family ceremony for him in Summer 2023.
Please raise a glass at dinner tonight and toast this beautiful man. Cheers to a Wonderful Life!
