Passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Hunter is survived by his daughter, Taylin Wilson (Noah), as well as by his siblings, Ethel (David), Colleen (Mark), Bill (Kathleen), Ian (Kim), and his twin brother Peter (Donna). Loved by his many nieces and nephews including Matt (Jen), Judy (Joe), Luke (Katie), Sarah (Wayne), Andrew (Maxine), and Shannon (Frankie).
Hunter was a lifelong lover of the outdoors, enjoying many years of camping and canoeing with family and friends. He was very gifted with his hands and always gave freely with his time. After spending most of his life living in the city, Hunter spent the past year living with his family out in the countryside, embracing the lifestyle as the designated lawn mower, dog walker, and tree trimmer (amongst other things!).
The family extends their sincerest gratitudes to the phenomenal nurses and doctors at Princess Margaret Hospital and Mount Sinai for their unwavering efforts at preserving Hunter’s life.
At Hunter’s request, a private gathering for family will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Foundation for cancer and stem cell research.
