We sadly announce the passing of Joyce at her residence Chartwell Wynfield Long Term Care - Oshawa at the age of 96.
Born to parents Annie and Charles in East York she married her beloved husband Bill (William) Cain on July 26, 1947. Bill built their home on Pitt Ave in Scarborough that they lived in together from 1951 until his passing in 1990 and until her 92nd year (2018).
Joyce is predeceased by her beloved daughter Linda, grandson Justin, siblings Jack, Wilf, and Zina (Ross), sister-in-law Laurina as well as nephews John and Robin.
She leaves behind her loving sons Michael (Margaret), Dan and Bill (Karen), daughters-in-law Susan and Cheryl, her doting grandchildren Shannon (Kevin), Vanessa (James), Cristin (Angus), Alyssa (Kevin), Tanya (Steven), Bradlee and her beloved great grandsons Colton, Owen, Hudson, Carson, Callum, Rowan and two more on the way. Joyce will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Joan (Ray) and dear friends Audrey, Sharon, Janice and Pat (Ian) to name a few.
Mom, Grandma, Nan, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, Cousin, Friend - she cherished these titles and her relationships with her family and friends. Her love of animals, kindness, compassion, and sense of humour were all uniquely her. Joyce will be missed beyond measure.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON M1R2Y8. A chapel service will occur Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 12:00 PM, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON M1R2Y8. An interment will occur Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, ON M1K 1R1. For the visitation periods and the funeral service 50 people will be permitted in the room at a time and guests must pre register for the period in which they would like to attend. All guests will be required to register directly with the family. Upon entry to the funeral home guests will be required to confirm their contact information for the purpose of contact tracing. Masks or face coverings are required indoors. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the funeral home at this time.
