Leonardo Gatto

Nato a Termini Imerese, Sicilia, figlio di Maria e Giuseppe Gatto. Sono arrivati a Toronto 1957. Dopo una settimana suo papa a portato a lavoro a Loblaws con lui.

He was such a hard worker, and was so passionate in helping everyone he knew. His Successful career grew so strong that he managed a Service Award celebrating 63 years with Loblaws.

He had so much love for his family and always found the time to travel back to Termini Imerese (Sicilia, Palermo) to visit his sister and close cousins. He also loved music, his soccer games every Sunday and enjoyed maintaining a fully stocked giardino. He taught us the real meaning of family, but now we move forward without him. A wonderful loss of a man who was always smiling and kind to everyone.

We thank you for everything you have done for us, you will be cherished & always in our hearts forever.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Margherita (married for 53 years)

A visitation for Leonardo will be held at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON M1R 2Y8 on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church, 2210 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, ON M1P 2P9. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum, 4570 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M2N 5L6.

Due to the COVID guidelines guests are still required to follow the mandate of two metres (six feet) physical distancing. For the visitation 50 people will be permitted in the room at a time. Guests may be required to wait in line prior to entering the funeral home. Upon entry to the funeral home guests will be required to provide their contract information for the purpose of contact tracing. Proof of vaccination is not required. Masks or face coverings are required indoors.
