Mary Sylvia Collier passed way at her home on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, with family by her side. She was in her 75th year of life. Her wish was to be home in her final days, and that wish was granted. In her last days on this earth she was surrounded by family and lots of love.
Deep sadness does not adequately express the sense of loss we feel as a family. She was mother to three daughters, Carol Ann, Tammy, and Loretta. She had two beautiful granddaughters, Tamara and Julia; she was also a great-grandmother to Amara and Mikey. She was one of 16 children, originally born in Newfoundland. Mary also had many fur babies in life as she loved animals immensely.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church, located at 16 Lockwood Road (west of Woodbine Ave. on Queen Street East) on Saturday, February 14th at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Kingston Road.
To honour Mary’s life and love of animals, donations can be made to Toronto Wildlife Centre or Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge.
