Passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Monique was an avid reader and advocate for women and human rights. She sought to live life on her own terms. She was spirited, fiercely independent and beautiful inside and out.
Loving wife to Barry (predeceased) and mother to daughter Eliane.
A motor vehicle accident in 1983 changed the course of her life. Though physically changed forever, she retained her same strength and tenacity despite injuries, and is an example of courage and strength to her family and those who knew her. Even when life asked more of her than seemed fair or possible, she answered with resilience, and a spirit that would not break.
Cared for and loved by her devoted parents Michel (predeceased) and Alice Soulodre. Their commitment to her care never wavered and is a testament to love.
Loving mother to her daughter Eliane (Alan), she watched her grow up and had the joy of being a grandmother to Dylan.
She grew up the second eldest of nine children and is a cherished sister, sister in law, and aunt to her family who surrounded her with love always. Jean (Mary Anne), Gisèle (Ken), Jacques (Christine), Philippe (Helen), Diane Rabouin, Christiane (Laval), Marie Louise (Peter), Denis (Susana), Charles (Karen); her many nieces and her in-laws the McDonald family.

The family thanks the love and care provided for over 40 years by the nursing and support staff of EW Bickle Centre for Continuing Care. This was her home and they her family too.
