it so sad to see him pass away fast and early, it was a very sudden news .philimon was a freind and he was like a brother to me i pray his soul rest in peace. God be with his family.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of such a good and kind-hearted boy Philemon

Babiyee, My heart is broken. I still can’t believe you’re gone. I keep thinking about those days in Addis Ababa walking through the streets, your small hand in mine. I’ll never forget the time we went to Medaniyalem Church and you asked me why people were gathering and praying. That question coming from you, such a young boy, really stayed with me.
I miss everything about you your smile, your curiosity, the way your love could light up any room. I can still hear your little voice saying, “I love you, Danny. I miss you,” in that voicemail you left me.
I miss you so much, Babiyye. I know you’re in a better place now, but you’ll always be with me in my heart, in my memories, in everything. I love you.

Philimon touched the lives of everyone around him with astonishing kindness. 
He welcomed our family with that same kindness and warmth. It was really touching, even back then, how he cared for Lillian when she was much younger. He looked after every younger child around him as if he were their older brother. He handled every situation with such gentleness and care. This sentiment is shared by everyone who ever got the privilege of spending time with Philimon.

I always admired his ability to make others feel seen and cared for, especially younger children and his peers. He was emotionally mature far beyond his years. Philimon truly was, in every sense, an angel walking among us.

We would often have long, appreciative conversations about him in his absence. Surprised by how pure, compassionate and joy-filled he was. We would talk endlessly about what a good and truly kind child he was. It’s said that God chooses the kindest souls first and I believe it more than ever now.

I’ll never forget the times I helped him with his homework. How we’d try so hard to concentrate but he would suddenly crack the most ridiculous jokes with the goofiest, brightest smile. Nathan would immediately do the same, and no matter how much I tried to stay serious, I’d end up laughing too. It was seriously impossible to stay mad at him once he hits you with that beautiful, bright smile of his. That was Philimon. Pure genuine light.

Getting to know him was a true privilege, one I’ll always be grateful for. He taught us way more than he could ever have known.

The loss of Philimon leaves an unbearable ache but, we will live on in his memory, spreading the same kindness he did and honouring the beautiful life he lived. He is now an angel in Heaven, watching over us, especially his mother, father and little brother. I know he’s holding them close and guiding them with strength, warmth and unwavering care

Philimon was the kind of boy you never forget, a boy that every teacher and student knew. He was quick to give a huge, contagious smile that was accompanied by a twinkle in his eye that made your day a little brighter. He embodied kindness and goodness and boundless energy. 
 I remember having him in my portable with a small group of boys. In a moment that will stay with me forever, Philimon enthusiastically wrapped his arm around a classmate who had just completed a task. His face lit up with genuine pride—not for himself, but for his peer. There was no envy, no hesitation—just pure, heartfelt joy. It wasn’t his accomplishment, but Philimon celebrated it as if it were. That simple act of encouragement, that moment of selfless support, is one of my most cherished memories as a teacher. In that moment Philimon truly embodied the kind of character that can’t be taught. 
Though his time here was far too short, the warmth of his spirit, and radiant smile will linger in every hallway he once ran through at SMdP.  May you find peace in God’s hands Philimon. My deepest condolences.
