I am sorry to hear about Ray's passing.  I cooked for Ray for about 5 years and also considered him a friend.  When I made him a meal he always complained that I did not put enough salt on it.  My answer was always â€œYou have 2 choices, either eat it or leave itâ€. We had many laughs together.

We are so saddened to hear of Ribs' passing.  He was our friend here in Victoria, and we still think of him often. (every time we walk in front of Beckley Manor) He touched our lives with his humor and wit, and we still "quote" him in conversation today. Proud to call him a friend.  Thanks Ribs for touching our lives. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to the Thomas family.

We knew Ray through his loving daughter Nancy and it always brightened our day when we saw him. He leaves a wonderful legacy with such an amazing family and we will miss him very much.

I was saddened to hear of Uncle Ray's passing. He was a remarkable man and will always be remembered. My sincerest sympathy and prayers go out to you. Happy memories will sustain you through these difficult days of sorrow.

We the Hillier family would like to send condolences to the family of Ramond (Ribs) Thomas. He was a great friend of my father Silas Hillier. Both were overseas together. He was a lot of help for my dad when applying for financial assistance from the Royal Navy. I was very fortunate to know him as dads friend and my husband's uncle. I will never forget him.

To the Tomas family we are so sorry for the passing of a great man Uncle Ray. We remember the many stories he would tell us when he visited with his brother(my father) Haold and my mom May. We will not forget him.

Mr. T.s son, Tim has been a very special friend for more than 20 years and through our faith, daughter Nancy. Through Tim and Brenda, I have considered their children to be more than friends as well.  Tim often spoke of his father living in B.C. and despite the distance made frequent visits to spend time with his dad.  I had the honour and pleasure of meeting Mr. Thomas a few times after he moved to Newmarket.  There is no doubt that he and Anne were wonderful parents and must have been proud, having raised such a large and caring family that blossomed so well as depicted in the beautiful tribute which I have read here.  We thank God for his life and service to Canada.  I am thankful for having met Mr. Thomas and know that he will be missed but remembered always. May he rest in peace.
