January 4, 1952 – February 21, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, wife and sister, Zorana Mary Louise Rose, who left this world on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 73. Though she faced the trials of Alzheimer’s in her final years, she never lost the love in her heart, the warmth in her soul, or the kindness she shared so freely with those around her.
Zorana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the beloved wife of John Frederic Mangold III, for over 45 years (together for 50), a man who loved her more than anything and dedicated his life to making her happy. Their love was a beautiful testament to devotion, patience, and unwavering companionship.
She was a mother of three strong and resilient children, Alana Mangold-Page (Jolon Page), John Frederic Mangold IV (Kailey Mangold) and Nicholas Mangold, each of whom carries her strength, wisdom, and loving spirit. She was also an engaged grandmother to four young grandchildren. Their laughter brought her immense joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Zorana had a deep love for animals, always finding comfort and joy in their presence. She spent countless hours feeding the birds and squirrels, delighting in their trust and company. Cats were her lifelong companions, bringing her peace and sweet purrs throughout the years.
She is survived by her sister, Vanessa Rose (John Egar), a strong and loving woman who stood by Zorana through every chapter of life. Their bond was one of deep understanding, love, and unbreakable sisterhood.
Though Alzheimer's may have dimmed some of her memories, it never touched her spirit —her love, her kindness, and the special way she cared for those around her. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her desire to nurture all living things, and the love she shared.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, free from suffering, and reunited with loved ones who passed before her.
A Celebration of life will be held in her honor, surrounded by those who cherished her most. The service will be held at Presentation Manor on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Toronto Humane Society or Sick Kids; causes that were dear to her heart and to which she donated for years.
Rest gently, dear Zorana. You will be missed beyond measure, but your love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know you.
