Alan Lloyd Eckstein, the owner of the Scarsdale Flower Shoppe, died on Tuesday, January 3rd. Alan was born in the Bronx on June 3rd, 1937 to Benjamin and Mildred Eckstein. Before he ran the flower shop, Alan owned and operated a number of small businesses including State Office Supply on 5th Avenue in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. During his 30 years as a Scarsdale resident, Alan ingratiated himself within the community and could often be seen about town with a smile and some charming words for everyone he encountered. Alan is survived by his wife Francine, his sons Todd, Adam, and Matthew, and his five grandchildren, Samantha, Brian, Kayla, Josh, and Morgan. The family will be honoring Alan's wishes by having a small and private service. The family will be sitting shiva at Alan and Francine's home on Friday 12 - 3, Saturday after sundown, and Sunday afternoon.
