Anna J. Aurichio

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Anna J. Aurichio, 82, of Scarsdale, NY; wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Anna passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Anna was born October 29, 1934 in the Bronx, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Jakominich. She was the youngest of two children. Anna grew up in the Bronx and met her devoted husband of 62 years, Joseph, at Orchard Beach where it was love at first sight. They resided in Hartsdale and Scarsdale, NY for the past 38 years.

Anna is survived by her loving husband Joseph L. Aurichio; her sister Mary Radich; her children Andrea and husband Peter; Karin, Denise, Louis and wife Kim, Janine and Olga; her grandchildren Kevin, Kelley, John, Maya, Isabel and Alexandra; lifelong friends and loving caregivers; and dog “Duke.” She is predeceased by her son, Joseph Jr.

Anna befriended everyone she met with a huge smile and gentle manner. She had a passion for gardening and was a Master Gardener; tending many flower and vegetable gardens with loving care. Anna was active all her life, starting with raising six children; and later with tennis, sailing and lively outings with girlfriends. She and her husband loved to travel the world with their family and dear friends. Anna was a fantastic self-taught chef and excelled at needle crafts. A performer at heart, Anna was known to break into song or dance, get involved in community theater and partake in skits at their country club.

Anna, thank you so much for your grace, courage and love. It is hard to imagine a world without you. Words can’t describe how much we’ll miss you. We love you, we love you, we love you.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale, NY; followed by a procession to Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
