

Clayton Julius Miller Jr. was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, on April 2, 1942. He died in Scarsdale, NY on October 8, 2025. Clayton is survived by his partner Joanne of many years. Clayton was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Susie Miller, and his sisters Rosetta Miller and Diane Miller Hardy. He is survived by his brother, Army Lt. Colonel Walter G. Miller and his wife, Juanita. Also surviving his niece, Hannah, her husband Steven, and great-niece Haven.
Clayton received a degree from Florida A & M in Secondary Education Music with a specialty in choral performance and conducting. I addition to winning several choral competitions for his students at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle, he taught and lectured on Dalcroze Eurythmics at the famed Julliard School of New York City. He not only taught this system in several states throughout the United States, but he also taught it in Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand. Music was not the only passion of this master trumpeter. He also excelled in tennis and chess. This talented man was beloved by all.
A visitation will be held on Monday October 13, 2025, from 3-7 PM at the Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes 824 Scarsdale Ave Scarsdale NY 10583.
