Daniel A. Schildwachter Jr.

Daniel A. Schildwachter Jr. of White Plains, NY died Tuesday May 27, 2014 at United Hebrew of New Rochelle. He was 85 years old. Daniel A. Schildwachter Jr. was born on July 24, 1928 in the Bronx, NY. He became a child of God through baptism on August 12, 1928 and reaffirmed his faith on his Confirmation Day May 3, 1942.

Daniel married the late Elizabeth (Muench) on April 9, 1950. Their children include Daniel A. lll (Ellen Bellisi), Lois Ann (Richard J Kane Sr), Paul John (Jenifer Szczesny) and Amy Elizabeth. Daniel is survived by his wife Elfriede (Hanisch), his 4 children, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Daniel served as president of Fred M Schildwachter & Sons, Inc. Daniel was a member of the National Guard 258th Field Artillery Battalion from 1948 – 1953. Daniel was also a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Scarsdale, NY. He served as President of the congregation, served on the Board of Trustees as well as the Board of Education. Daniel served on the Board of Directors at the Wartburg Lutheran Home and held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Daniel was also a member of the White Plains Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Kiwanis Club.

Funeral arrangements are being made through Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, Scarsdale, NY. Internment is at White Plains Rural Cemetery. Visitation Thursday May 29, 2014 from 2-5PM & 7-9PM. Funeral Service Friday 10:30AM at Trinity Lutheran Church Scarsdale.
