Dolores is survived by her loving sister Mary Knapp; her devoted children Dawn Mercurio (née Ragone), Tara Ragone, and John Ragone; and her cherished grandchildren Robyn Mercurio (spouse, Anthony DeBellis), Mark Mercurio, Ryan Ragone, and Joseph Ragone.
She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Mastroddi; father, Alfred Mastroddi; and brother, Alfred Mastroddi.
Dolores Ragone was the most caring and loving Sister, Mother, and Grandmother anyone could ask for. No matter when you called her, Dolores was always there ready to listen without judgment. Ever attentive and with the uncanny ability to say just the right thing, or give the best advice, she was our soft shoulder to lean on.
A caregiver to all, she invariably put her kids first, and herself last. She worked to the bone to make sure her family was taken care of and that her children were okay. She would split herself in two to be present at all of her kids’s activities - a skill only a mother has.
Her kind nature extended to strangers. During a snowstorm, she opened her heart and home to a stranded family to ensure they had a warm and safe place to survive the night. This was the core of who Dolore Ragone was.
A force to be reckoned with, strong and determined, Dolores would never complain. She often quoted her favorite singer, Doris Day, with “Que sera, sera” (whatever will be, will be). She was a bright light for everyone, our angel on Earth, our rock to lean on.
Her family would wait for her call to say “Good Morning” (you could hear the smile in her voice), and end their days with a call to say “Good Night, dream of the angels.” Now her children ask “who are we going to talk to?”
