Eastchester- Edward N. Tornatore of Eastchester, New York passed away with his wife Arlene and loving family surrounding him. Edward was born on September 6, 1938 to the late Arthur and Mary Tornatore in New York. On June 17, 1963 Edward married the love of his life, Arlene Perretti. Edward was a proud Marine Corps Reservist. Shortly thereafter Edward was employed by Xerox Corporation for thirty-eight years. After only less than a year of retirement he spent 8 years working for Icon Corporation. After the second retirement, he was employed as a Real Estate Agent by Keller Williams Realty of Scarsdale, New York.
Edward graduated from Iona College with a Bachelor of Business degree. Although he held mostly management positions, he was a man of many talents. He could accomplish anything computer related, programming and assembling, and repairing. Aside from his employment, there was always a second career on the side. When younger he had a television repair business, a home alarm installation company, and a computer payroll company. Due to his boundless generous nature, many family and friends received his services as a gift.
Edward was there for anyone who was in need. Everyone who has had the privilege of knowing him received some form of help from him. His generosity, and love was boundless for his family and friends. There was nothing he would not do for his grandchildren. He was always present at every sport, school, and religious event and even prepared most Sunday dinners for them. He was part of their lives every step of the way. Pop-pop was there with a loving smile and a blue twinkle in his eyes.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife Arlene of fifty-five years, his son Dr. Robert Tornatore (Dr. Carla), daughter Maryellen Tornatore, his four loving grandchildren, Robert, Sarah, Caroline, and Andrew, his brother Arthur Tornatore, and sister Rosalyn Tornatore.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Edward L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Avenue, Scarsdale, New York. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 8th at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, NY at 10:00 a.m. Internment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
