Eileen Daly Donohue passed away on Tuesday, June 18th at the age of 94. She was born in the Bronx on June 3, 1930 to Theresa and John Daly and was a sister to James Daly, Veronica Davison, John Daly and Anne Fay. Eileen graduated from Marymount College in Manhattan, and was a teacher in the New York City public schools before her marriage.
Eileen married William E. Donohue in 1959, and they moved a few years later to Scarsdale, where they raised their three children, Clare (Michael) Coyne, Nancy (Thomas) Brady and William (Joan) Donohue. She returned to teaching at St. Pius X in Scarsdale, and then retired after 23 years to enjoy her time with her eight grandchildren, Annemarie Donohue, Thomas Brady Jr., William Donohue, John Brady, Matthew Donohue, George Brady, Stephen and Theresa Coyne.
During her retirement years in Spring Lake, NJ and at the Osborn, Rye NY, Eileen enjoyed walking, playing bridge, reading and swimming. She loved to laugh and always had a witty remark to brighten the day. Eileen was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and loving grandmother.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband William and her siblings, James, Veronica and John.
