OBITUARY

Eleanor S. O'Connell

June 23, 1920October 3, 2019

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smile, I've only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand, in your hearts, I've only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.

Fred and I loved sharing the holiday get togethers at Pat and Meg’s with Eleanor. Such a sharp mind and wit, she kept us laughing with all of her stories. So true what Meg mentioned about her phone calls, she has never missed Fred’s nor my birthday or anniversary. We always received a congratulatory call, with best wishes. We will miss her.

The great grandkids called her "GG" - short for Great-Grandma!

Too many memories to count. One of the strongest women I have ever known. I was blessed to have been able to spend one night a week with her for the last ten+ years. She was loved by, and loved, many. If you knew her, I bet she remembered your birthday after all these years and still sent a card or made a quick phone call to wish you well! She worried about everyone she loved, with all of her heart. She has earned her right to rest in peace, with her God, whom she truly lived in the image of and incorporated into all she did.
I will miss her, her honest words of wisdom, the snacks she sent me to work with, the notes she left me on the mornings I was going to work, her birthday calls (of which many are saved)....but I know she was ready to go. Take care of my Kelsey girl up there, Grandma! We love you, ALWAYS.
