I worked with Ms. Prince many years ago. She was so kind & calm but also smart & I enjoyed talking to her. My favorite memory of her happened when I went into her classroom to help with a child who was having a hard time adjusting to school. I asked him a question & he gave me a three curse word response. I will never forget the look on her face as we were both shocked but her smile was coming out & we were both trying not to laugh. 
Im glad I had the opportunity to know her.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. Ms. Prince was a kind and wonderful person. I had the pleasure and opportunity to work with her at P.S. 26- The Jesse Owens School for many years. Even though, she was a kindergarten teacher and I taught fourth grade, we would often talk in the morning before we began our day.  She touched, inspired and shaped many children lives during her time here at P.S. 26.  She was appreciated, respected and missed by her colleagues after she retired. I just found out today of her passing and wished I would've know sooner so I could've paid my respect. Rest in Peace Ms. Prince!  You will be truly missed and you were an angel here on earth!

I just learned yesterday of the passing of this dear friend and colleague of mine.  We worked together as kindergarten teachers for a number of years.  Although I left that building, we remained in touch and after her retirement we continued to call each other.  I am heartbroken, especially that I did not get an opportunity to pay my respects.  Our conversations more the most parts, centered around our children. We both have (had) two girls and one boy.  We are (were) both from Jamaica, from the same parish and shared the same values.  Education for our children was at the top of the list.  I know how much she loved her children and how proud she was of their achievements.  She will be missed. Rest in peace, Elsie.

While I hardly knew Elsie, I always enjoyed seeing her upon dropping off or picking up my son at a playdate with her grandson, Cameron. Her smile and friendly demeanor always warmed my heart. She was clearly a devoted grandmother and special person in the lives of Cameron and his brother, Brandon. 

I can’t say enough about this lady.  I met her several years ago at Murray Avenue School where I monitored a door in the mornings where I played music.  She would pass me on Thursdays and Fridays and give me a big smile.  

One day she stopped at my door and said, “ can I tell you something and I hope you don’t get mad.  I pass by this door and always see you smiling saying hello to everyone and playing beautiful music that makes me smile and happy when I pass you. “ I looked at her,  smiled and said, “ how could I be mad. That’s the best compliment anyone can give me.”  We hugged and our friendship began. 

I would then look forward to Thursdays and Fridays when she came to visit her family in Larchmont.  She would proudly walk her grandchildren to school.  After she made sure they were fine, she would walk over to my door where we would have the nicest chats.  

I can’t tell you how much I looked forward to seeing her at the end the week.  Such a classy, loving, happy and full of life person Elsie was. 

When I got the news I cried and cried.  The end of a beautiful friendship.  When Covid hit we would email each other all the time.  I would send her pictures of my new grandson.  I asked her when I would see her again.  She would always say that when things calmed down she would come most likely in the Spring.  Now that will never come.  
Elsie I’m gonna miss you like crazy.  I was honored to be your friend for the short time we knew each other.  Love you always ❤️



Elsie was a great big sister, an awesome mother and friend. She taught me so much about love, patience, kindness and loyalty.  I would speak to her every day. You will be missed my sister, Love you ❤️❤️❤️. May your soul Rest In Peace.

Rest in peace auntie.  You were such a loving and caring person.  Heaven has gained a beautiful angel.  Until we meet again...

It is with deep sadness that I am writing this about my friend, Sis. Elsie.
 I am so grateful that I got to know you in our Women of Purpose small group at Agape House of Worship.  We shared some good times praying and talking about the goodness of God. Also, I can hear the laughter as we shared fond memories of life in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and the delicious dishes that we would prepare. 
Miss you my dear but I know you are in a better place.
