It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Frank Reno Volpicelli, who left this world suddenly on July 28th, 2025, at the age of 75 in his beloved home in Westerly Rhode Island. Truthfully this giant of a man's heart stopped when it simply couldn't hold more love.
Frank was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and friend whose warmth, generosity, and quiet strength touched the lives of many. Those official titles don't begin to tell the story of his life though. He was Papa, Father Frank, Squeeko, Babo V, Frankie, Little Z and many others. He was Best Man, Godfather, Wedding Officiant, Coach V, Youth Hockey President, Eulogist, Toastmaster, Chef, Host, Master of Ceremonies, Therapist, and Counselor. He was a Pillar of Strength to all who knew him.
Born in The Bronx, NY on April 2nd, 1950, Frank lived a life grounded in integrity, compassion, and dedication to those he cared for, especially his wife of 52 years, Angela.
Throughout his life, Frank was known for his remarkable work ethic, sharp mind, listening skills and a quick sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest day. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life - a good meal, meaningful conversation, and time spent with family and friends. A decorated baseball player in his youth, his happiest times were sitting next to Angela on the sidelines of football games, hockey games, soccer matches, and swim meets. This was followed closely by sitting at a table surrounded by loved ones, preferably holding a niece, nephew, great niece, great nephew, or grandson. A die-hard Yankee and Giants fan, he had a standing appointment with son Frank on Sundays at 1:00 at Giants stadium. He was famous for hosting the feast of the seven fish in his home on Christmas Eve for over 30 years. He approached every day with a steady hand and an open heart.
After a successful and loyal 32-year career as a banker at JP Morgan Chase, he was fortunate enough to retire at 59. He spent these precious years spending time in his cherished retreat in Westerly, traveling the world with his wife Angela, doting on his grandchildren, and golfing or fishing with his friends and family, especially best friend Paul.
Frank leaves behind a legacy of kindness and resilience. He is survived by wife Angela, Son Frank Michael, Daughter-in-law Elgida, Grandsons Frank Emerald and Zef. Cherished were Sisters Marianne, Carmel and their husbands Gerard and Tony as well as Sisters-in-law Laura and Cecilia and Brothers in-law Jim and Mike. Deeply loved were nieces and nephews Susan, Laura, Lisa, Anthony, James, Nicholas, Michael, and Joseph and their families. They will forever cherish his memory and carry his spirit with them.
He is predeceased by his beloved parents Frank Ralph and Lillian with whom he will now rest in eternity.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in memory of Frank R Volpicelli can be made to the NYP Cardiology Fund at NewYork-Presbyterian. Checks payable to New York-Presbyterian can be mailed to the NYP Development Office, 525 E 68th St., Box 123, New York, NY 10065. Donations can also be made online at www.nyp.org/giving. Frank expressed deep appreciation for the care he received that helped him live his last few years well.
Frank Reno Volpicelli will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His life was a gift to all who knew him. We will tell his story.
