Gerald P. Connolly age 87 died peacefully at White Plains Hospital on February 1, 2017. Gerald was born on September 2, 1929, in New York City to Irish immigrant parents, Patrick and Jane (Healy). He was the youngest of six brothers and sisters. Gerald was very proud of his upbringing in the Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and attended the City College of New York. Gerald also served in the US Army. He was a loyal employee of Citibank for over forty years.
Gerald met Mary Vaccaro at a church dance. They were married for sixty-two years. Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary; his sons Brian (Cathy), Michael, Jerry (Aimee) and his daughter, Karen (Mark Schivley). He was loved by seven grandchildren; Brian, Tricia, Claire, Thomas, Jerry, Declan and Madeleine. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Edwin Bennett Funeral Home on Scarsdale Avenue on Friday February 3, 2017 from 2-5 & 7-9PM A Christian mass will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church,8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, on Saturday February 4, 2017 at 10AM.
