Harold M. Cipollone, co-founder and longtime owner of C & F Plumbing and Heating in Scarsdale, died October 25, 2018 at the age of 78 in Hernando, FL. Harold and his partner, John Fosse, established C & F in 1968 where he continued to serve Scarsdale residents’ plumbing needs for the next 34 years. He formed many strong friendships and relationships with his Scarsdale clients. It was a running joke in the office that he could name a client just by hearing their address. A Scarsdale resident himself for 15 years, Harold’s 5 daughters spent many of their formative years in the Greenacres community. Harold could often be seen judging the annual Halloween window painting contest in his role as a member of Scarsdale’s Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he also spent time in leadership roles within Eastchester’s Chamber of Commerce and Westchester Master Plumbers Association.
Always one to stand out, Harold was a leap-year baby, born on February 29, 1940 in Bronx, NY to the late Michael and Violet (Berry) Cipollone, from whom he inherited his work ethic, love of pinochle and sense of humor. He served honorably in the National Guard where he earned the rank of Master Sergeant . Harold was an active parishioner for many years at St. Pius X and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Harry will be missed by his surviving family, including his wife of 52 years Elaine (McMahon) Cipollone of Hernando, FL, and his daughters: Cathy Tilley and her husband Jeff of Pound Ridge; Christine Demetros and her husband Brett of Syracuse; Theresa Ryan of Beverly Hills, FL; Cara Walsh and her husband Bill of Brisbane, Australia; and Diane Cipollone and her husband Ed Black of the Bronx. Harry is also survived by his 10 adoring grandchildren: Andrew, Julia, Samantha, Courtney, Logan, Megan, Owen, Harriet, Tegan and Cassius.
His family will receive friends at a memorial service at Bennett’s Funeral Home on November 11 from 10am - 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to The Tampa General Hospital Foundation in memory of Harold Cipollone at www.tgh.org/make-gift .
