God bless John. We were classmates at the Prep. His kindness and friendship and gift to give is always remembered. We were on the same youthhood trails.

My prayers and sympathy to John's family

John and I have been friends ever since we were little kids going to daycamp. But as we got older, I moved away and we lost touch. About a year ago we reconnected. Meeting for the first time in forty years, it was if all those years just melted away. He hadn't changed a bit. He was a great bear of a man, but, as always, a Teddy Bear, not a Grizzly Bear. We reminisced a little about the old days, but talked mostly about our present lives. John spoke about his family lovingly and proudly; telling me how lucky he was and how happy he was, despite his many physical ailments.
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend that time with John after all those years. The memory of that special day will stay with me forever.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow attendee and the family at this time. Attendees are recognized on the theory "if it's important to some to mention in an obit, then we can spare a few prayers". Perhaps, the time at MC was both formative and important to our comrade. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. Author Unknown
