Born on February 23, 1940, in the Bronx, Joe grew up near Pelham Parkway and attended DeWitt Clinton High School. He went on to study at the City College of New York (CUNY) and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Those early years helped shape the discipline, toughness, and work ethic that would define the rest of his life.
On September 10, 1961, Joe married the love of his life, Angela. Together they shared over 60 years of marriage, building a life grounded in loyalty, perseverance, and deep family values.
Joe was a man of unwavering responsibility, strength, and commitment to his family. Together, Joe and Angela raised four sons, instilling in them the same values that Joe lived by every day.
He had a personality that could not be matched—strong, determined, and at times stubborn—but always rooted in caring deeply for those around him. He was the steady presence in the family, the one everyone looked to, and the man who carried both the good and the difficult moments of life with quiet strength.
Joe also had a deep love for the Catskills, where he spent his summers on Tennanah Lake enjoying the beauty of nature. Whether out on his boat, fishing, hunting, or making his way from town to town, those were some of his happiest times.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Angela; his sons, Joseph (Christine), Robert (Christine), Thomas (Julie), and Anthony (Avery).
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Joseph Alfred (Kaitlyn), Nicholas (Camille), Stefan, Cameron, Sarina (Patrick) Nigro, Michael, Juliana (Thomas) Iversen, Gina, Matthew, John, Elizabeth, Kristina (John) Catrini, Angela (Ian) Steckel, and Victoria; and by his great-grandchildren: Joseph, Maggie, Andrew, Patrick, John Anthony, a baby boy on the way, and his soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter, Layla Rose.
He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Sepe, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Simone.
He also leaves behind a legacy of strength, work ethic, and devotion to family that will continue through the generations.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
