Joyce Lane, Rye, New York passed peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018 after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 82 years old. She was born on November 14, 1935 to Irving and Carolyn Kirshbaum in Newark, New Jersey although she lived most of her life with her family in Deal, New Jersey.
She is predeceased by her husband Phillip. They were married by the Mayor of Deal on August 12, 1956. She is survived by her three children, Glenn Lane (Lisa) of Scarsdale, NY, Lori Goldstein (Hal) of Shrewsbury, NJ and Carolyn Steins (Ed) of Bedford, NY. She also had four grandchildren, Zachary, Carly, Matteus and Ruby.
Aside from raising her children, Joyce spent much of her time volunteering at Children’s Psychiatric Center/Shore Affiliate and Monmouth Museum. She and her husband loved traveling all over the world and fostered that love for travel in their children. But more than any other activity, Joyce loved the sport of Horse Racing. She and Phillip could be found at the same table at Monmouth Park Racetrack every Saturday and Sunday during the racing season for over 50 years.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
