

Margaret Cecelia D’Arcy, a Scarsdale resident for sixty years, died in White Plains on March 21 at the age of 94.
Mrs. D’Arcy, who was born in the Bronx, graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan and earned her bachelor’s degree from Hunter College. She lived on Barry Road in Edgewood and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
She served for many years on the board of the United Way. She was also a member of the Scarsdale Woman’s Club.
Mrs. D’Arcy was married for 35 years to Albert J. D’Arcy, who died in 1981. She is survived by a brother, Gerald Tangney of Arlington Heights, Illinois, and by two sisters, Sister Therese Tangney of Sparkill, New York, and Cora Tangney Tanner, of Hartsdale, New York, by four children – Christine D’Arcy of Salem Oregon, David D’Arcy of New York City, Karen D’Arcy Couzens of Scarsdale, and Stephen D’Arcy of Port Chester – and by five grandchildren.
A wake will be held on Saturday, March 26, at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes on 824 Scarsdale Avenue, from 2 to 5 pm. A funeral mass will be said at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Monday, March 28, at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Scarsdale Public Library.
