It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Venuto, 88, on April 2nd, 2024, at her home in Scarsdale, New York. She was born May 1, 1935, to John and Frances Soricelli and grew up in the Parkchester section of the Bronx.
Patricia graduated St. Helena’s High School in 1953 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College in 1957. After graduation, she began her career as a schoolteacher in the Bronx. Ironically after a blind date in 1959, Patricia had no idea such chemistry would ignite with the future love of her life, Dino Venuto. They married in 1961 and moved to Scarsdale in 1969. Together they had two sons, Greg and Paul.
After a long break to raise her children, her teaching career had a second act when she became a GED teacher at BOCES Adult & Community Services, helping improve the lives of hundreds of adults by advancing their education. Patricia loved music, theater, fine dining and reading the New York Times. Together with her husband they took many memorable vacations to destinations near and far, including Barcelona, Tuscany, Paris, Prague, London, and Dublin.
She is survived by her husband Dino, sons Greg (Susan) and Paul (Jennifer), and grandchildren Paige, Julietta, Parker, and Jason. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who loved her.
Services will take place Saturday April 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM 12:30 PM at Bennett Funeral Home in Scarsdale.
A memorial visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, New York 10583.
