On February 3, 2022, our world lost a kind and loving person, Ralph Joseph Zappetti passed days before his 78th birthday and returned home to the Lord. Ralph was born on February 6, 1944 in New York, New York to Louis Zappetti and Mary (Impemba) Zappetti.
He is survived by his devoted wife Clara. He was predeceased by his brother Nicholas and is survived by his sisters Marie (Tony) Infante and Anna (Ben) Ribaudo and many nieces and nephews; step daughter Kristy (Dominick) Vanacore and their loving children Antonio and Gianni. He was an adoring and loving father to his children Susan (Tony) Colavita, Laura Rago, Ralph Zappetti and his grandchildren Jessica (Richard) Shanahan, Joseph Negro and Jillian Negro, Sophia Rago and Vincent Rago, and Ralph Zappetti. He was particularly doting on his great-grandchildren Grace and Thomas Shanahan.
Ralph worked as a Building Inspector for the City of New York for many years and engaged in several other enterprises. But what he loved doing more than anything (even more than rooting against the Yankees) was spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the best father, grandfather (aka Pepa), and great-grandfather imaginable and was a constant source of love and strength. He was a good friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed spending time at his beach home in Seaside Heights. He especially enjoyed family dinners, a good cigar, a glass of homemade grappa, and a lively conversation. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in Ralph’s memory to Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 257 Main Street, Eastchester, NY 10709 (info at eastchesterems.com).
