Regina Garnsey passed away on Oct. 8, 2012. She was a longtime resident of Eastchester. Regina was born August 24, 1914 in Bronxville, NY. the daughter of Anna and Ignatious Karlan. She worked at Burroughs Welcome in Tuckahoe, Schraffts Restaurant in Scarsdale and Tom Carvel's Hubie shop in Ardsley. Regina married the love of her life, John C. Garnsey, Sr., on
June 30, 1933. He passed away on April 10, 1980. She was predeceased by her sisters Marion Burros, Anna Henwood, Claire Hasselman and a brother, Julian Karlan. She is survived by her son John C. Garnsey, Jr. (Lynne), four grandchildren, Lynne Maimon, John C. Garnsey, III (Sue), Regina Hickey (Kevin) and Jeffrey Garnsey (Allyson). "Mommom" was adored by eight great grandchildren, Ilana, Melanie, Jake, Zach, Sean, Cori, Ava and Mia..and many nieces and nephews
Regina was a 50 year member of Minnehaha Chapter 227 OES. serving as an officer many years ago.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Thursday, October 11, 2012 . A viewing will be held on Friday the 12th from 9-10am at the funeral home with a religious service to follow, followed by interment Kensico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, 61 Gramercy Park N, Suite 605, New York, NY 10010.
