

Romi as she like to be called was born in Kenosha Wisconsin on December 1, 1934 to Frank and Clara Vignieri. She was their oldest child and greatly loved. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, she went to St. Mary's nursing school to get her degree as an R.N. She returned to Kenosha and met and married Louis Defranco in 1959 who tragically passed away in 1964. She moved to New York City with her small son, Louis and her sister Judy in 1966. She loved the city. She met her great love Stephen Weingrad and married him in 1970. They had one cherished daughter together named Renee. Stephen and Romi were happily married for 53 years. Romi was loving, kind, forgiving, adventurous, steadfast, and so generous. She loved nursing, entertaining, New York City and was passionate about cooking. Everyone who has ever met Romi loved her for her graciousness. She will be truly missed by all.
She is survived by her loving husband Stephen; her devoted daughter Renee; her grandchildren: Brandon, Madeline,and Hayden; her sister-in-laws Kathy Vignieri and Michele Vignieri, her brother-in-law Toby Martir; her brothers Michael Vignieri and Tony Vignieri; her sister Judy Martir and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Louis. Her parents, Frank, and Clara; her brothers, Frank S and Charles Vignieri; and her sisters, Mary Sevick and Joyce Heinz.
