Dr. Ruslan Korobeinik died on February 20, 2021 at The Sarah Newman Nursing home in Mamaroneck, NY, following a gallant 3-year battle with cancer. Born in Kobelyaky, Ukraine on September 2, 1974 to Valeriy and Lyudmila Korobeinik, he was a loving father, a dutiful son, a caring husband, a reliable friend, a highly skilled dentist, and a devout Christian gentleman.

Ruslan was a life-long learner whose inquisitive and resourceful mind enriched the many he gifted with his friendship. He was an American immigrant success story. After graduating from dental school in Ukraine, he came to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a professional American dentist. He proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2001 and graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in the same year. Ruslan worked at Bellevue Hospital during and after the 9/11 attacks. The tragedy deeply affected him, reinforcing his natural empathy for others made manifest in his Christian faith.

His NYU classmates remember him as a diligent, optimistic, and generous young man clearly in love with his wife, Natasha. Together, they built a successful dental practice in White Plains, NY, where Ruslan — now Dr. Korobeinik — practiced for 17 years. His patients and staff love and remember him for his compassion, ethics, innovation, and strong sense of duty. Ruslan was a vibrant, vital, yet humble, gentle member of the Westchester Region of the New York City Church of Christ. His faith and devotion grew stronger throughout his struggle with cancer, proving a great comfort to those who stood witness. Ruslan was a proud, encouraging and understanding father. Both of his sons, Daniel and Gregory, share his passions for skiing and tennis. Ruslan was an avid ping-pong player who enjoyed competing and perfecting his game. He loved to work with his hands and his heart. As a husband, Ruslan was a true life-partner, protector and friend to Natasha, his wife of 25 years. Ruslan had a happy, optimistic, and caring spirit which will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A sweet, loving man has returned to the house of his God. Rest in Peace, Ruslan.

My condolences to the beautiful family of Dr. K. I will always remember him, as an exemplary doctor, with a professional work, of excellent quality, impeccable! I was always a faithful patient for several years. I will never find a doctor like him since he was always a person of integrity, faith, with a great sense of humor, he always made me laugh out loud without losing respect and integrity. A huge to Natasha and her children with all respect and admiration.

By the grace of GOD I was sent to the Guerrino Dental office, in Mt. Vernon, down the street from me. I know it was GOD because the first dentist I saw in that office was horrible and I wasn't going back BUT I did because GOD had Dr K waiting for me! He soon left that office but I found where he had moved. My new job was in a med center which included dentists. When I left there I started a "hardcore" search for Dr. K. and found him in White Plains~I told him I became Sherlock Holmes because I was determined to find him!! We had a good laugh, then & many more over the years! We always talked about GOD and he loved that I sang in my choir~Love to Natasha, Daniel, Gregory~ Carol M.

Ruslan was one of the very first brothers to pull me in when I was first baptised in 1999. Immature and lazy, I was not an easy student. Years later he took over as my dentist -- and still I was not an easy patient! Yet Ruslan was always, ALWAYS so graceful and patient with me. Thank you for taking care of me over the years, sir. I'm so sorry to see you go, but I'm so glad you're with your Father. See you soon big brother...

Bruce and I extend our deep condolences to you and the boys. We can only imagine and pray for the lost you now feel. Dr. K was such a great dentist! We always trusted that God was working through him, as we made the decisions - and he did the work. He was always gentle and kind, and there is peace in knowing, that while we miss him here on earth, he is receiving a rich welcome into God’s Kingdom in Heaven.
You and your family remain in our prayers.

Ruslan NEVER failed to ask about my family; my husband's well being as well as that of my boys. He was an incredible human being. His gentle smile and gracious manner will be sorely missed. But I thank God he counted every day as a blessing and gave his best at all that God had placed within him to do. Rest in peace my brother in Christ.

Dear Ruslan,
You are such an inspiring story of determination, kindness to everyone and family. We have loved being Edgewood neighbors with your family and were blessed to have you as our excellent dentist for many years.
We shared many good times with Boy Scout bonfires, camping, pinewood derby, sports and band performances. I was so impressed seeing you do calisthenics at Davis Park early in the morning :)
You always had a smile for everyone and asking (and really caring) how people are doing.
Your legacy of beautiful family in Natasha, Daniel and Gregory speaks for itself. You are a world class success story who will continue to inspire us on how handle adversity with so much strength, grit and determination.
God bless you as you watch over your beautiful family closely from Heaven.
We love you,
The Lilly Family
Brian Sr, Brenda, Virginia & Brian Jr in heaven xoxo

We don’t have the words to express how sad we were upon hearing the news of Ruslan’s passing. We are so very sorry for your loss. We feel so fortunate to have been your neighbors during our time in NY, and to have had the chance to share not only a house but many wonderful evenings with your family. This photo is from one of those evenings. The memory of this night, Ruslan’s kindness, and his love of family and friends will live in our hearts forever. Sending lots of love and strength to you during this difficult time.

I remember Ruslan when he was part of our Queens ministry. He always had a big smile and pleasantness about him. He would share how he longed for his wife to join him here as he was starting off his profession as a dentist. I am happy to see how God has blessed him with an abundant life as he has also been a blessing to others.
May God comfort his family as we remember him the way he was.
