

Teresa Piacquadio, age 84, of Eastchester, NY, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at White Plains Hospital in Westchester, NY. Born on October 6, 1940, in Decorata, Italy, Teresa lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Teresa immigrated to America at the age of 18, carrying with her the warmth and spirit of her Italian roots. Five years later, she returned to Italy to marry her beloved husband, Mario Piacquadio, beginning a remarkable 65-year partnership filled with love and mutual support. Together, they built a life centered on family and service.
A dedicated nurse’s aide, Teresa worked at Cabrini Hospice, where her gentle care and boundless empathy brought comfort to countless patients in their final days. Her work was not just a profession but a calling, reflecting her deep commitment to helping others.
Teresa’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Mario Piacquadio; her son, Mario Piacquadio Jr.; her former daughter-in-law, Annalisa; and her three cherished grandchildren, Mario, Emma, and Lia. She is also survived by her sister, Rosa Callara, and three sisters-in-law, Teresina,Caterina, and Madalena. Teresa was predeceased by her brothers, Vincenzo, Pietro, and Angelo, and her sisters, Michaelina, Vincenza, and Lucia.
Born and raised in Decorata, Italy, Teresa’s early life shaped her strength and determination. Her journey from a small Italian village to a fulfilling life in America was a testament to her courage and adventurous spirit. She carried her heritage with pride, sharing stories of Decorata and the traditions that defined her.
Teresa’s kindness, generosity, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her memory will live on through the love she gave so freely and the lives she touched with her care.
A wake will be held at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Avenue, Scarsdale, NY 10583, on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, NY, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Teresa’s light will forever shine in the hearts of her family and friends.
