Vincenza H. “Vinnie” Jablonski (nee DiLustro), age 98, of Yonkers, New York passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018 at White Plains Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Giuseppe and Loreta (Castaldi) DiLustro on August 24, 1919. A graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, she was employed at the 1939 World’s Fair where she met her future husband, Louis J. Jablonski, whom she married on July 24, 1943. As a young bride she travelled to Vallejo, California to join her husband who was serving in the Navy at Mare Island during World War II. A New Yorker at heart, she happily returned to Brooklyn in 1946. In 1956 Vincenza and her husband moved to Yonkers.

Vincenza was devoted to her family throughout her life and enthusiastically hosted holiday meals for her many relatives. She was an avid Yankee fan, and enjoyed bowling and photography. The youngest of five children, and she was predeceased by her sisters, Teresa Aversa and Anna Genova, and her brothers, Frank and John DiLustro. Preceded in death by her daughter, Irene E. Jablonski, and her husband of 57 years, Louis J. Jablonski, she is survived by her children Loretta L. Donovan (John), Louis J. Jablonski (MaryBeth), and Helen McLaughlin Buhlinger (Tom), and her grandchildren John (Loredana) Donovan, Ann (Randy) Donovan-Pape, Courtney Donovan (Ian Duncan); Jay, Andrew (Annie), and Peter Jablonski; Bill and Kelly McLaughlin; and six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Edwin Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Avenue, Scarsdale, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 19th at 10:15 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 5 Strathmore Road, Scarsdale, New York. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, or to METAvivor Research and Support Inc., 1783 Forest Dr., #184, Annapolis MD 21401.
