Anna grew up on her family farm where she would assist in daily chores such as milking the cows. One special bovine on the farm was her pet bull, Bully, who Anna had hand-raised from a sickly calf. When it came time to bring Bully to market, young Anna was the only one who could accomplish what three adult men could not, which was to safely and calmly load Bully up on the trailer and send him off.
Anna had a true combination of grit and tenderness. She loved animals, nature, flowers and the peace of her home, spending much of her time on her porch, watching the hummingbirds gather at her multiple feeders. But her greatest joy was her granddaughter, Danielle, whom she truly adored and doted upon.
Anna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Deron Heisey; her granddaughter, Danielle Heisey; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Raymond A. Fittery; her parents, John and Ruth; a brother, Lee Gerhart and a sister, Earla Sherman; and two nieces and a nephew.
