Anna O Martin Kurtz

Anna O. Kurtz, 86, of Myerstown, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in her home. She was the wife of Norman H. Kurtz with whom she was married to for 65 years. She was born on October 31, 1929 in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late John Z. and Ella Oberholtzer Martin. She was a member of the Martins Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference. Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Elvin husband of Elva Kurtz of Scipio Center, NY; Alta wife of Menno Wenger of Beavertown, PA; Vera wife of Isaac Newswanger of Carson City, MI; Lloyd husband of Nancy Kurtz of Fleetwood, PA; Mark husband of Darlene Kurtz of Mifflinburg, PA; John husband of Arlene Kurtz of Beavertown, PA; Norman husband of Mary Ann Kurtz of Colby, WI; Mary wife of Lester Martin of Loyal. WI; Anna wife of Abraham Shirk of Hagerstown, MD; Mabel Kurtz of Myerstown; Sarah wife of Alvin Martin of Unity, WI; Ella wife of Nelson Ray Zimmerman of Loyal WI; 79 grandchildren; 124 great grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth wife of Paul Martin of Ephrata, PA; Katie wife of Phares Newswanger of Newmanstown; Mabel wife of Ivan Horst of Ephrata; Martha wife of the late Raymond Martin of Mt. Aetna; Mary wife of Ivan Hurst of Ephrata; Ezra husband of Marion Martin of Myerstown; Nora wife of Willard Hackman of Wellsboro. She was preceded in death by brothers, Aaron Martin, Reuben Martin, John Martin; sister, Esther Martin; grandchildren, Norman Newswanger, Adrian Newswanger, Lynelle and Lynette Zimmerman; great grandchild, Elvin Martin. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 9:30 AM in the Martins Mennonite Church, Church Road, Womelsdorf, PA. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery.
