Betty Jane Keener

Betty Jane Keener, 86, of Schaefferstown died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Stoneridge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the wife of the late Marvin W. Keener who passed away in 1986. She was born in Lancaster County on December 12, 1926, daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Doerstler Herr. She was formerly employed by Wilbur Chocolate and Wogaman Brothers in Lititz. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Womelsdorf. Betty Jane enjoyed gardening, listening to big band music and buying and selling at flea markets. She is survived by her sons: Bruce Keener and wife Louise, Newmanstown; Larry Keener, Schaefferstown; Randy Keener and wife Deb, Ephrata; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and brother Vernon Herr, Newmanstown. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Harold, Albert, Robert Herr; sisters: Miriam Fish, Erma Hartman, Esther Kummer and Ruth Kauffman. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Clauser Funeral Home, 120 N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown where a viewing will begin at 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will be made in Schaefferstown Cemetery.
