Casey, a perpetual optimist, was affectionately known as "Pupper" to those who had the opportunity to watch him grow. He was a gamer, a crossword puzzle destroyer, an incredible scuba diver, a dessert-devouring machine - but most importantly, he was the embodiment of the term "heart of gold".
Casey grew up on the shores of his beloved Chesapeake Bay, enjoying swimming, boating and the camaraderie of great friends.
After graduating from Tulpehocken High School and Millersville University, Casey worked to help at-risk youth, and to touch the lives of so many others in each job he held. He most enjoyed working at the Renaissance Faire, as a cook, where he quickly became part of the "Faire Family", and eventually met his fiance, Jen Ceresini.
In addition to his fiance, Casey is survived by his parents, Peter and Lisa Ilus, his sister Jena Wolgemuth, her husband Jared, and nephew Jack. He will also be sorely missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his Nana.
Most importantly, Casey also leaves behind his clone, son Sebastien Ilus, age 3, who was the absolute light of his life.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 29th from 11-2 at the Schaefferstown Fire Hall.
Clauser Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: "The Casey Ilus Family Fund" C/O Fulton Bank, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, or The American Cancer Society.
