
Charles Paul Boyer, 84, of Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Jean M. Stein Boyer. He was born in Cornwall on July 14, 1930, a son of the late Edwin L. and Viola E. Waltman Boyer. Charlie was employed by the Cornwall Ore Mines for 32 years and also worked for 12 years with the PA Game Commission at Middlecreek Wildlife Perserve. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown; Richland American Legion, Post 880; was Past Commander of the Myerstown VFW, Post 6076 and Heidelberg Township Lions Club. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Mining and was Co-Author of the book, “Cornwall” with Robert Donley in 2010. He is survived by daughter, Cynthia Baxter Golden of Wernersville; son, Rodney Boyer and wife Penny of Myerstown; grandson, Ryan Baxter; great grandsons, Elliot and Collin Baxter; step granddaughter, Jamie Arnold; step great grandsons, Adam and Jason Arnold; sister, Joyce Doxtater and husband Stanley of Lebanon; brothers, James Boyer and wife Mary of Harrisburg; Carl Boyer and wife Betty of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Boyer and Robert Boyer. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14th at 10:30 AM in the Levi Zerr Chapel of Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, PA, with a visitation beginning on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cornwall Manor Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 125, Cornwall, PA 17016.
