Christine L Mason

Christine L. Mason, 64, of Lebanon, died Friday, February 11, 2012 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, PA. She was the wife of Gilbert J. Mason with whom she celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on February 3rd. She was born in Lebanon on December 28, 1947, a daughter of the late Gene L. Wike, Sr. and Esther Zellers Wike. She was employed for 23 years as librarian of the Lebanon County Historical Society. She was a 1965 graduate of Cornwall High School. Christine was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Lebanon where she was involved in their archive committee and a member of the Lebanon County Historical Society. She loved flowers, working in her garden, and was an avid historian and genealogist. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Jennifer wife of Wesley Harding, Jr. of Lebanon; son, SFC James Mason and his wife Jodie of Fort Campbell, KY; seven grandchildren; brothers, Gene L. Wike, Jr. of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; Charles Wike and his wife Peggy of Fredericksburg; Scott Wike and his wife Kathleen of Lebanon; sisters, Susan Fetzer of Lebanon and Sherri Bord of Fredericksburg. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Salem Lutheran Church, 8th & Willow St., Lebanon with a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Salem Lutheran Church Archive/Restoration Fund, 8th & Willow St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
