David James Beard, 68, of Newmanstown, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in his home. He was the husband of Bonnie J. Landis Beard with whom he was married to for 48 years. He was born in Lancaster on December 31, 1947 a son of the late James Allen and Martha Louise Christener Beard. David had his own computer programming business for 20 years and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved working on model planes, rockets and building radios and telescopes. David was a Boy Scout Master for a few years. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Morgan L. Beard and husband Peter A. Marchese of Drexel Hill, PA; sister, Mary Ann Beard and husband Charles Drake of Elizabethtown. There will be a viewing for David on Wednesday, March 16th from 1pm to 2 pm at the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
