Franklin G. Moyer

Franklin G. Moyer, 90 of Schaefferstown passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth Hartman Moyer to whom he was married 60 years. He was born in Heidelberg Twp. on September 25, 1924, son of the late William H. and Franey Achey Moyer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Richland Legion and the Heidelberg Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed trapshooting, snowmobiling and hunting. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son: Scott F. Moyer and wife Donna, Schaefferstown; grandchildren: Jennifer S. Haas, Myerstown; Amora Cook wife of Justin Bord, VA; Zachary Cook and wife Kendra, Reading; Gregory S. Moyer and wife Keely McGeehan, Carlisle; Averee wife of Adam Shaw, London; Grant W. Moyer, Philadelphia; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Pauline Bingeman, Lititz. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Eugene and Ralph Moyer; sisters: Vernetta Kleinfelter, Eleanor Kramer, Molly Smith, Marguerite Moyer and a great-granddaughter. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Schaefferstown Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Donmoyer of St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Richland American Legion.
