I am half of a set of twins delivered by Franklin, 2 of the 1000 babies delivered. I also remember "house calls" when we were sick. He was my 3 
babies doctor for all of their shots and checkups. I always think of other child hood memories when I pass the old office. My thoughts are with the family.RIP Doc.

Another one of his 1000 babies and my doctor until he retired. He was the genuine item as a physician and caregiver, making house calls and charging little for his services. He was "the" country doctor who was the center piece for many, many lives in his community and the surrounding area.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Zimmerman's death. Along with so many others, I have fond recollections of him as our family doctor, and as a child, I trusted him completely. I was never afraid to go to his office, or have him come to the house. He exemplified the best of country doctors, and I feel blessed to have known him. My sincerest sympathies.

As I celebrate my birthday this week I am reminded about the story of how Doc. had to jump the fence at the farm house to deliver me because he could not get the gate open.I always think about him when I pass the old office. He always was so kind. He made going to the doctor less scarey for me when I was a child. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Another one of his 1000 deliveries , I was born in the US , upstairs in my Pappys' house outside of Newmanstown way back in 1954 . Doc Zimmerman delivered 12 of my  grandparents children and then me , the first grandchild , all at home , RFD#1 Newmanschtedle . Back in 1980 when we auctioned off my Grandfathers farm , I found the cancelled check that my Pappy wrote to pay for the house call when I was born , all of $12 , what a deal . He must have given us a bulk rate price . He visited many times when I was a child to see my Grandmother who had a bad case of Rhumitism . He would line up all the children and give us each a sugar pill and teach us how to swallow a pill , so when we were ill we would know how to do it correctly . True country doctoring by a true gem of the community .

The first time I ever saw the "younger" Franklin was when his dad was doing physicals at K-ville Elementary.  He was our family doctor as long as I can remember, but most all a friend and shoulder to the entire community.  After moving to Phoenix, I would see him when I visited St Luke and he always had a happy smile and was always glad to see me.  He was truly a treasure.  My sincere condolences to his family.

He was my doctor when I was a kid.  He was a great doctor and a better person.  He will be truly missed.

What a small world. All of my childhood memories include Doc and Peg at the Chesapeake. Today, in my medical practice, I was with a patient who was delivered by Doc and stated to me, "My first doctor, a truly wonderful man, passed away last week." I knew exactly who he meant. Doc was a wonderful doctor, a true gentleman, an inspiration to all.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Another one of his 1000 babies, I have many good memories of seeing “Doc” at his office and when he made house calls.  He was such a loving and caring doctor, he was with my grandmother when she passed away at home and her last words were uttered to him in PA Dutch.  It was very comforting to me when he told me that story.  My most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.  Be comforted knowing how many lives he touched.

My heartfelt condolences for your loss of Franklin Zimmerman. May the fondest memories carry you through this challenging time. And may the familiar and assuring words of our Heavenly Father at John 11: 11, 43-45 keep you looking to the future when Franklin will be back with you.

My Sympathy to his family, he will be sadly missed. He was loved by so many people, and brought joy to so many lives.  God has a special place in heaven for a man like him.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Doc delivered all our five children and he was our doctor until he retired. The last time I talked to him was at Dutchway grocery shopping.  He always had a way to making a person feel special. RIP Doc.

A tremendous loss, he was so dedicated to the profession and although  he had a very busy schedule always found time   to have a conversation with everybody.  My father did gardening and lawn work for him for many years; I have many  memories of their friendship. My thoughts and sympathy  to all the family of "Doc" Zimmerman.

Our prayers and sympathy are with you. Doc was an inspiration to all of us at St. Luke and as a family physician. We are thankful for his many years of service to the community.

You will be sadly missed Doc Zimmerman.My condolences go out to the family and friends of this great man.My family and I always went to see Doc and all he had to do was just look at you and he could tell what was wrong.My fondest memory of him is that we used to always talk about morel mushroom hunting,which my father and I still do.He always had good stories to tell,and by the time you left his office you started feeling better already.He was just a great man all around.
