Jacqueline J. Matthews Balmer

Jacqueline J. Balmer, 72, of Schaefferstown, PA, died Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA. She was the wife of Everett L. “Tiny” Balmer. She celebrated with her husband and family 50 years of marriage on October 23rd. She was born June 5, 1938 in Schaefferstown a daughter of the late Joseph and Selma Hickernell Matthews. Jackie had her own beauty shop in Schaefferstown for 42 years and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Schaefferstown. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Betsy Jo wife of Scott Rights of West Cornwall, PA; Beth Ann wife of Daniel Pickerd of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Hillary and Meredith Rights, Keaton and Delaney Pickerd; brothers, Dale husband of Tresia Matthews and Joseph husband of Gwendolyn Matthews both of Schaefferstown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Krall. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the St. Luke Lutheran Church, E. Main St., Schaefferstown, PA 17088. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to her church, St. Luke Lutheran Church or the Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111. To the Balmer family-- So sorry to learn that Jackie passed away. I used to go to her beauty shop years ago when I lived in Schaefferstown. She was a very nice lady and will be greatly missed.
