James H. Patches age 81 of Myerstown, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 19, 2026. He was the husband of Jean M. (Bross) Patches. They were married 61 years in August. He was a farmer and also sold crop supplies. He was a faithful Christian and a member of One Hope Brethren Church. James was the son of the late Howard and Martha (Cassel) Patches. He is survived by his wife, Daughter Debbie (Jonathan) Summy, Daughter - in - law, Renee (Wenger) Patches, 9 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, sisters Ruth (David) Keller, Naomi (Luke) Bucher, Brother - in- law Joe (Liz) Alspaugh. Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death, by his parents, son Daniel J. Patches, a brother Mark C. (Alta) Patches, sister Grace E. (Joe) Alspaugh. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 23, 2026, 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Heidelberg Church of the Brethren, 162 E. Reistville Road, Myerstown, PA, 17067. The funeral service also will be held at the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM, with a viewing from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
