John Elam Martin

John Elam Martin, 74 of Newmanstown died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Eva Jane (Stauffer) Martin for 51 years. He was born in West Earl Township on October 31, 1940, son of the late H. Landis and Anna (Martin) Martin. He was a member of Fairview Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference. He was a self-employed farmer. He is survived by his son: Nelson husband of Velma (Hursh) Martin, Annville; daughters: Glenda wife of Glenn H. Martin, Elliottsburg; Nancy wife of Leon S. Lauver, Mohnton; daughter-in-law: Marie Martin, Newmanstown; 26 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers: Harlan husband of Emma Martin, Lititz; Elvin Martin, Newmanstown; Earl husband of Barbara Martin, Lebanon; Raymond husband of Mabel Martin, Lititz; Wilmer husband of Elaine Martin, Lititz; 7 sisters: Vera wife of John Nolt, Lititz; Edna wife of Amos Martin, Denver; Miriam Martin, Denver; Laverne wife of John Fox, Denver; Norma Martin of Lancaster; Anna Mae wife of Elvin Hoover, Reinholds; Erla wife of Merle Martin, Lititz. He was preceded in death by a son Jason L. Martin and great-grandson Jeffrey M. Wise. A viewing will be held on Sunday in the Fairview Reception Center, 141 Jackson Rd, Lebanon from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am in the Fairview Mennonite Church, Elco Drive, Myerstown. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.
