Born in Reading, PA, on July 28, 1945, he was a son of the late Daniel and Grace (Blacker) McMullan.
Ken was a 1963 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School and served in the United States Army Reserve. Ken had a few different career chapters in his life: an architectural draftsman for Elmer H. Adams and Associates, Reading; a paralegal for the late John Wertz, Esquire; a self-employed contractor; and the Maintenance Superintendent of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. He also served on the Millcreek-Richland Sewer Authority for many years. He had a lifelong love of dirt track auto racing. In the 1980s and 90s, he co-managed and co-promoted Penn National Speedway, in Grantville, and later, Susquehanna Speedway, in Newberrytown. In retirement, he was a loyal equipment operator and track official at Grandview Speedway, Bechtelsville, up until his passing. He enjoyed watching racing of all forms; cooking his secret recipes for family holiday gatherings; and spending time and fishing at Tuckahoe Acres, DE, for over 30 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Jenny Wolgemuth and her husband, Jamie, of Schaefferstown, and Laura Bomgardner and her companion, Marco Della Ragione, of Myerstown; grandchildren, Vanessa Wolgemuth, Paige Bomgardner, Cameron Wolgemuth and Gabriella Della Ragione; brothers, James, David, and Daniel McMullan, husband of Linda; along with a niece and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George R. McMullan; sisters-in-law, Donna and Jean McMullan; and a nephew, Neil McMullan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon County Humane Society or St Jude Children’s Hospital.
